Documentation and Lab Manuals

General
	Most of the documents are PDF files and, therefore, you will need a PDF-viewer to read them. You can upload the free Adobe Acrobat Reader from Adobe to view these PDF files. If you have problems reading these files, right click on the hyperlinks below and select Save Target As... Save them to your computer and then try to open them by double clicking on them.
C and LabWindows Programming
	Upload the entire course manual which covers the programming aspects of the course, including the fundamentals of ANSI C and National Instrument's LabWindows CVI programming. Basic syntax is explained and examples and exercises are given. The manual is stored as a PDF file and contains 113 pages which corresponds to about 900 k. Spring 2001 Lab Manual
	Upload the entire course manual which covers the experiments and notes on statistics and spreadsheets. The manual is stored as a PDF file and contains 94 pages which corresponds to about 900 kB. It can also be downloaded from: http://mxp.physics.umn.edu/s01/Phys4052.pdf
Notes on Statistics
	These notes on "The Statistical Treatment of Data" by Prof. Ruddick cover the fundamentals of statistics and briefly discuss significant figures, errors and error propagation, various distributions (Binomial, Poisson and Gaussian), Least Squares Fitting and Chi Square. The notes are stored as a PDF file and are about 24 pages long which corresponds to about 320 kB. They are also contained in the above "Spring 2001 Lab Manual." Notes on MS Excel
	The short introduction covers the basics of spreadsheets, such as cells, relative and absolute addresses and filling down. Computer Information
	Information regarding student accounts and access to the lab accounts and computers are provided in various documents on the network drive under the U:\pub\Computer Info\ folder. You must be a student and have a valid account to view this information.
