Velocity of Second Sound in Superfluid HeliumPrincipal Investigators:
AbstractThe investigation of the velocity of second sound in superfluid helium provides important clues to the nature of superconductivity of superfluid helium. In fact, the superconductivity of superfluid helium helium is due to its superfluity. In the following experiment we will investigate the peculiar behavior of thermal vibrations in superfluid helium. Unlike the ordinary fluids in which vibrations are usually damped oscillations, no such damped oscillations are present in superfluid helium near the lambda point. Back to Methods Lab
